The instructor to student ratio for our Class B program is one to one. This normally all-field training course consists of driving in training areas that include combinations of highway, city, and heavy traffic areas with a strong emphasis on defensive driving. After completion of the course, students are taken to the Department of Motor Vehicles for the Class B Commercial Driver's License skills and driving tests. A standard Class B box or a modified Class A vehicle is used for this training, and this equipment fully complies with all Federal, State and Local regulations. A Class B holder can, however, drive a variety of vehicles, including: straight trucks, dump trucks, and buses (with a Passenger Endorsement / Bus Endorsement). Western Truck School also offers training for Passenger Endorsement (A Class B with a Passenger Endorsement) for those who wish to become Commercial Bus drivers. This is a 40-hour course emphasizing safety, pre-trip inspection, in-cab inspections, air brake check, skills and driving. The course is offered on an on-going basis at locations throughout California as available. Contact Us for the next class start date if you want more information.
