Also known as "Mobile Equipment Operator's Certification", our Forklift Certification program is designed for inexperienced operators who wish to learn the practical and safe operation of a forklift. Class size shall be limited to six students at a time. Classroom instruction in the principles, theory and regulations related to forklift operation and includes a review of equipment requirements, warnings, precautions, hazards and principles. Hands-on operation learning controls and instrumentation, power plant inspection, operation and maintenance, techniques for steering and maneuvering, visibility limitations, refueling, load manipulation (stacking and unstacking), equipment capacity and stability and operation in narrow aisles or other restricted areas is provided. Upon observation and evaluation by an instructor trained in certification, each student shall receive a Mobile Equipment Operator's Certification. Mobile Equipment Operator's Re-Certification: This course is designed for experienced operators who have been certified for more than three years and require recertification of operation skills and principles. The course is approximately four hours in length and includes review, testing, and hands-on training by an instructor trained in certification that will evaluate the operator's proficiency in safe and effective operation. Equipment: Training at the Forklift Certification Center will be conducted on sit-down counter-balance, powered lift truck equipment. Our California Forklift Certifciation is recognized in the United States by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as meeting its standard 1910-178(1) and recognized in Canada by Labour Canada as meeting the standard of Canadian Material Handling Regulations SOR/72/-288. In addition, the National Safety Council has approved these courses.
